Darwin Harbour Cruises
Press Room

Darwin is known for its spectacular sunsets and there’s no better way to experience them than onboard with Darwin Harbour Cruises.

With two boats offering very different experiences, Darwin Harbour Cruises invites guests to unwind and enjoy some Territory hospitality:

  • The Charles Darwin
    • A 25-metre, air-conditioned, tri-level catamaran with several decks allows for plenty of photo opportunities.
    • Join the Charles Darwin for a sunset cruise or a sunset dinner cruise that includes a Territory-inspired meal. (MENTION WINE BRANDS AND/OR FOOD OPTIONS)
  • The Tumlaren
    • A beautifully restored 20-metre motorised schooner is available for charters.
    • The open deck is shaded and keeps you close to the water, perfect for a more intimate occasion.

Regardless of the boat you choose, Darwin Harbour Cruises will take you out on the calm harbour and provide expert commentary detailing the history of Darwin and today’s community. On board, you’ll get tips on spotting wildlife including dugongs, turtles, crocodiles, and dolphins.

Charters are available on both boats and the team will work with you to help create the perfect event.

·       Our vessels have led interesting previous lives, with The Charles Darwin being built in Adelaide and originally named ‘Shangri-La Princess’, and the Tumlaren built in Sydney as a scaled-down version of Dick Smith’s vessel that sailed to Antarctica.

·        Lots of marine life call Darwin Harbour home, so guests should keep their eyes peeled for dolphins, dugongs, turtles and crocodiles.
