JOURNEY BEYOND LAUNCHES ISLAND CONNECTIONS

Journey Beyond launches Island Connections, linking travellers to Australia’s most unique and remarkable locations

Journey Beyond, Australia’s leading experiential tourism group, has unveiled Island Connections, the new national brand for its recently acquired SeaLink marine operations. Bringing these established ferry and coastal services together under one identity, Island Connections will connect travellers with some of Australia’s most remote and distinctive island destinations.

Island Connections unites Journey Beyond’s new marine operations across Bruny Island (Tasmania), the Whitsundays, K’gari (Fraser Island), the Tiwi Islands, Groote Eylandt and Darwin-Mandorah, providing guests a seamless way to reach some of Australia’s most remote and extraordinary destinations.

Carrying more than 400,000 guests each year, the marine operations connect travellers and local communities with island and coastal destinations from Tasmania to the Top End. Across Journey Beyond’s marine portfolio, the group now operates more than 150 vessels and welcomes 2.6 million guests annually.

Journey Beyond CEO Chris Tallent said Island Connections was about connecting people to place.

“Island Connections makes extraordinary destinations more accessible and gives our guests a seamless way to explore Australia, whether that’s rail to reef, river to resort or city to the sea,” Mr Tallent said.

It sits within Journey Beyond’s collection of iconic Australian and New Zealand travel brands, giving guests more ways to explore Australia and discover different destinations and experiences as part of one journey.”

Jennifer Vandekreeke, Managing Director of Journey Beyond’s Experiences & Attractions division, will oversee the business and said, “What makes Island Connections exciting is the opportunity to bring these marine services together while celebrating what makes each destination unique.

From the waters around Bruny Island and the Whitsundays to the Tiwi Islands and the Top End, these are special places with their own stories, communities and character. Our role is to support the people who know these destinations best and bring these iconic destinations within reach of more travellers”.
