ROTTNEST EXPRESS SUPPORTS TELETHON TO THE TUNE OF $250K

25 October 2021

Rottnest Express, operated by Journey Beyond, is thrilled to support Western Australian children’s charity, Telethon, and is proud to have donated more than $62,000 to this year’s fundraising efforts, and nearly $250,000 over the past 10 years.

Ferrying people from Perth and Fremantle to Rottnest Island and back for more than 60 years, Rottnest Express is a Western Australian icon and is deeply committed to its community. To that end, a portion of every Rottnest Express Telethon Saver Fare purchased is donated in support of the Telethon charity.

Telethon’s Partnerships and Relationships Senior Manager, Vikki Stacy said its partnership with Rottnest Express directly helps support the Western Australian community.

“We can’t thank Rottnest Express enough for always coming on board and saying ‘yes’ to supporting the children and charities throughout Western Australia – you contributed to another incredible result. Without hesitation, you get involved,” Ms. Stacy concluded.

Rottnest Express General Manager Niko Peranovic said supporting the local community where we live, and work remains a priority for the organisation.

“Telethon is a stalwart of the Western Australian community and the work they do makes a difference to so many children and families. Our Telethon Saver Fare means guests not only get a discounted fare but a portion of it goes to Telethon to help support their vital work,” Mr. Peranovic continued.

“‘Rotto’ has a special part in Western Australians’ hearts and many people have childhood memories from time spent there. Our Quokka Club means Western Australian children under 12 years old travel free from Monday to Friday, which helps families build those special memories.”
