Sal Salis is open from March through to November and has been designed to operate in tune with the fragile environment of the National Park, with strict principles of minimal impact and sustainability.
Here, the luxury lies in the wilderness experience and the chance to reconnect with nature. Guests are encouraged to go at their own pace, with days to be as adventurous or as relaxed they wish. Each day, Sal Salis guides lead two small-group tours along the Ningaloo Coastline (dependent on weather conditions) – from reef snorkels with vibrant marine life, kayaking, paddle boarding, or gorge walks through Cape Range National Park. Guests can also enjoy the reef directly from camp, with all equipment provided.
Guests are made to feel at home with all meals and beverages included. The Lodge, the camp’s social heart, is the place to be at any hour. It’s the perfect spot to watch the sun set with a drink in hand, before sharing stories with fellow travellers over a three-course dinner showcasing local produce and wines.
A true highlight of staying at Sal Salis is the access it gives guests to the UNESCO World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef. From here, whale shark and humpback whale swims can be organised for an additional cost. The up-close encounters with these incredible creatures certainly put things into perspective.
